Enginarium uses Crafting Stencils to store crafting patterns for automation and assisted storage.

Crafting Station

The Crafting Station is used to encode a crafting recipe onto a stencil.

Basic workflow:

1. Put a blank Crafting Stencil in the stencil slot.
2. Place the desired recipe into the 3 × 3 pattern area.
3. The pattern is represented as ghost items; the recipe ingredients are not consumed merely by encoding.
4. Take the encoded stencil from the output.
5. Removing the stencil clears the encoded pattern display.

The automatic crafting system can use stored patterns with inventory automation such as hoppers and compatible pipes.
